Easter Honey Bunny

Our wee man was here with his Mommy & Daddy, plus Uncle Colin & Aunt Jen for a pre-Easter dinner. He just never stops smiling...well, there is the odd time when he asserts himself...but he's a pretty happy boy. Tim came home from Calgary with cowboy hats for each of them and Ty should be quite a hit on the rodeo circuit...hmmm, I think I see a pair of little cowboy boots in his near future!

The cousins were all over for Easter dinner and we had a great time. Sandy & Bill had only arrived from Barbados late the previous night but they were full of fun and glad to see everyone. Andrew came for supper as well, which was a very pleasant surprise. He looks good and semms to be getting better all the time.

Only 5 more sleeps until we head to St Maartens for our Windjammer cruise. I'm determined to pack very, very light as this is a laid-back holiday or as the brochure says, "this ain't no foo-foo cruise". I'm looking forward to having a couple of days to re-visit some of our favourite places in St Maartens before the cruise begins.

Tulip Festival Exhibit

Exciting news...! One of my tulip photos (shown here) has been chosen to be part of the photo exhibit at the Tulip Festival this year. And best of all, one of Joyce's prints has been selected also.

The organizers of this year's festival decided they would chose 40 photographers from among those who submitted their work and a panel of judges would select one or two prints from each one in order to set up an exhibit tent at Major's Hill Park. The prints will be framed by the committee and offered for sale and the photographers can have their business cards there to promote their photo businesses if they wish...and I do.

The opportunity to be involved in such a large festival is very exciting. I have no idea how many photographers sent in photos...I'd like to think there were hundreds and hundreds and that Joyce's and mine were among the best.

Start of a New Family

The phone rang this morning and it was son Colin's special lady, Jennifer, calling from Cuba where they are spending a week on holiday. Her first words were, "Hi Mom", which means that she got her beautiful diamond engagement ring!

He was so nervous before he left...he wanted to do everything right to make it special and from Jen's reaction, he managed it just fine. She was so excited, and very happy. He got on the phone and sounded just the same. It's hard to believe my 'baby' is going to settle down but he waited to find the right girl and he certainly accomplished that. Jen is a sweet girl and exactly the right match for him, in every way. She's intelligent, has a terrific sense of humour, and loves him so much and that last fact is all I ever wanted for him.

My boys have all chosen strong, intelligent, independent women who love them beyond reason and are wonderful partners. I'm so proud of each of the girls and while they are each very different, they are all fabulous women. In turn, the girls have each gotten men who are loyal, honest and who will always be the most wonderful husbands and fathers. They got those traits from their own father who was a great role model for them.

I expect Colin & Jen will marry next year so we already have something to look forward to.
